Flatbed Trucking

Flatbed trucking is used for freight that cannot move in a standard dry van because of its size, shape, weight, or loading needs. Titan Transline provides flatbed shipping across Canada & USA for steel, lumber, machinery, and other freight that requires open-deck loading, delivery, and secure transport.

Shipments We handle

When your freight doesn’t fit in a box—or even a trailer—Titan Transline’s flatbed services are the answer. Our team handles open-deck shipments of all sizes, shapes, and complexities. Whether it’s building materials, machinery, or oversized equipment, we have the experience, equipment, and securement tools to get it there safely.

OVERSIZED & OVERWEIGHT

We coordinate all necessary permits, escorts, and routing for wide, tall, or overweight shipments — ensuring your freight stays compliant and on time.

JOBSITE DELIVERIES

Need delivery to a construction site or limited-access area? Our experienced drivers handle tough locations safely, including lift-assist or crane-coordinated unloads when needed. Not just the dock to dock shipments.

STEP DECK & DROP DECKS

For taller freight that exceeds legal height on a regular flatbed, we offer step decks and drop decks — ideal for large equipment, tanks, or oversized crates.

CURTAIN SIDE & ROLL-TITE

Get the benefits of flatbed loading with the protection of a dry van. Curtain sides are perfect for weather-sensitive freight that still requires side or crane loading.

MOFFETT DELIVERY

For sites without unloading equipment, we offer Moffett (truck-mounted forklift) delivery. This allows us to unload freight safely and efficiently at job sites, residential areas, or rural locations — no dock or equipment needed.

STANDARD FLATBED

Our standard flatbeds are ideal for steel, lumber, palletized goods, and more. We secure every load according to DOT and provincial regulations and provide tarping as needed.

When to choose flatbed trucking?

Flatbed trucking is ideal for businesses moving construction materials, steel products, machinery, piping, industrial freight, and jobsite shipments that need open-deck access, flexible loading, and specialized securement.

Our trucking Options

Flatbed shipping is all about flexibility—and Titan Transline delivers. Whether you need a standard 48’ flatbed, a step deck, a double drop, or something custom, we’ve got the equipment and expertise to handle your freight. Cargo protection

May require edge protection, heavy-duty chains, binders, coil racks, and securement methods that follow cargo shape and engineering requirements.

May need tarping depending on weather, exposure, and product sensitivity.

Often require chain securement, careful positioning, blocking, and bracing to prevent shifting during transport.

May be better protected with a roll-tite or curtain side trailer when tarps could damage surfaces or when wind, moisture, or temperature exposure is a concern.

May require specialized loading procedures such as eye-to-the-sky loading, steel racking, and weight-balanced positioning.

May need dunnage, blocking, bracing, and load levelers to improve weight distribution and help keep the cargo stable in transit.

May need added weather planning and equipment selection to reduce exposure risks.

Should be used when the product surface or structure could be damaged by direct strap contact.

Our process

Flatbed shipping requires more planning than standard enclosed freight because the trailer type, loading method, jobsite access, and securement approach all affect safety and delivery performance.

1

Quotation & Shipment Review

Send us your shipment details and we’ll provide a customized flatbed quote based on dimensions, weight, freight type, loading method, trailer requirements, route, and timing.

2

Equipment & Delivery Planning

We confirm whether the shipment needs a standard flatbed, step deck, roll-tite, extendable trailer, hotshot, or RGN, then review pickup and delivery conditions, jobsite access, unloading requirements, and any Moffett or crane coordination needed.

3

Load Planning & Securement

Before pickup, we review how the freight should be positioned and protected, including chains, straps, binders, corner protection, blocking, bracing, dunnage, tarping, or special securement based on the cargo type.

4

Dispatch, Pickup & Tracking

Your shipment is dispatched with the right equipment and picked up on time. We provide proactive communication and shipment updates throughout transit.

5

On-Time Delivery

We coordinate final delivery to docks, jobsites, rural locations, or limited-access sites and provide proof of delivery once the shipment is completed safely.

WHY CHOOSE US?

Our track record speaks for itself. With a commitment to on-time delivery and customer satisfaction, you can trust us to deliver your goods punctually and securely.

We offer more than just standard trailers. From multi-axle to extendable trailers, we have the right equipment for challenging loads.

Our drivers ensure every load is secured with straps or chains, preventing load shifting or damage during transport. This allows for safe transportation with minimal risk of damage.

FAQ

Flatbed freight often requires special handling, permits, and equipment — here are answers to the questions we hear most often.

What types of freight are best suited for flatbed shipping?

Flatbeds are ideal for large, heavy, or irregularly shaped freight such as steel beams, construction equipment, machinery, and palletized bulk materials.

Yes. We provide full and partial tarping depending on the load and weather conditions. Tarping is included when needed to protect your freight.

Yes. We routinely deliver to construction sites and other limited-access areas. Let us know in advance, and we’ll coordinate unloading or site requirements.

Absolutely. We take care of routing, permits, pilot cars, and escorts as needed — so your shipment remains compliant every mile of the way.

Standard flatbeds are designed for loads within legal size and weight limits. If your shipment is heavy, oversized, or over-dimensional, you’ll need specialized equipment like step decks or extendable trailers. Not sure which fits your load? Just ask us—we’re here to help.

Securing cargo on flatbed trucks involves using appropriate restraints, distributing weight evenly, and using blocking and bracing materials to prevent shifting. It’s essential to adhere to local regulations, conduct regular inspections, and train drivers in proper securement techniques to ensure safe transportation. Compliance with specific requirements for different cargo types is crucial for safety and regulatory adherence.

We use a combination of chains, binders, straps, tarps, and corner protectors to ensure your load is safely secured. Depending on the freight, drivers may also use load levelers and dunnage to ensure your shipment doesn’t move while in transit!

We run a wide range of flatbed equipment to suit different freight needs, including standard 48′ and 53′ flatbeds, step decks, double drops (RGNs), roll-tites, and 30’–40′ hotshots. Whether your load is oversized, time-sensitive, or weather-sensitive, we have the right trailer for the job.

A Moffett delivery service uses a truck-mounted forklift to load and unload freight at locations without docks or unloading equipment. It’s ideal for construction sites, residential deliveries, rural locations, and job sites requiring ground-level unloading.

Absolutely. Titan Transline uses extendable flatbed trailers to safely transport long or over-length freight such as beams, pipes, trusses, and structural components. We permit over dimensional loads and use extendable trailers when needed.

Standard carrier liability coverage is provided at the industry standard of $2 per pound of freight. For shipments with a higher or specific value, additional cargo insurance can be purchased. This coverage is issued as a one-time premium with an applicable deductible, and the insured amount is based on the declared value of the freight.
